At Long Last! The Finale to "Season 1" of Project Pantheon! Representing Mesopotamian mythology, and the Cambrian Extinction event, and the first High-Chieftan rendered in lineart form, Nammu, and her monstrous, planet destroying form... Tiamat.

As Mesopotamian mythology is one of the oldest in the world, with Sumeria being perhaps the first civilization ever (alongside Egypt and the Indus Valley), it's only fitting that the design for Tiamat incorporates design aspects from a plethora of Cambrian animals, though Anomalicarids remain the main influence. Even then, to represent Nammu being "above" biological limitations,

-------------------------
"How many times have I killed you, you oversized crawfish? How many times have you died and came back?! HOW?! WHY WON'T YOU DIIIEEEEEE???!!!" - Marduk

"I see other so-called "Great" Beasts, and I pity just how fallen these titans of the ages have become...

A Meat-Headed Patsy to a sad, mopey, tin-man
A Slave to his own washed-up, lecherous foe
A Lapdog to an half-blind old fool
A Servile Glutton no better than for waste disposal
A Great "Evil" too full itself to see that it's just one of many servants
An Old, Miserable Newt who's only purpose is being a glorified beat-stick
A Drunken Idiot trapped within his own creation
And a Psychopathic Manchild too stupid to see he's used like a puppet...

I on the other hand? HA! I am the High Chieftess of my Pantheon... I rule the Annunaki, I do not bow to them, they bow to me!"
- Nammu

"Behold, pantheons of afar, I bring judgement, I bring death" - Nammu, as Tiamat before wiping out an entire alien pantheon.

"I believe she mistakes intimidating her underlings to submission means the same thing as ruling" - The Archangel Michael

"Now THAT'S a leader who knows how to keep her underlings obedient" - Zeus

"What a b-" - Orochi

Nammu
, the goddess of primeval waters, the very same waters from which life as humans know it come from, is one of the oldest goddesses to have manifested onto the mortal plane, before many of the other chieftans like Zeus, Odin, Amaterasu and the Archangel Michael (himself rather "young" for an Angel). The first of what would later be known as the Annunaki, though she herself predates Anu, and in the beginning as a mostly mischievous figure, who viewed the mortals worshiping her as "funny". She does however find it interesting how she can affect all sea life within her waters, and was eager to make the strangest combinations of life she could think of.

Her attitude changed however with the advent of more gods arriving to the mortal plane. She considered herself pretty powerful, and effectively showed Anu the ways of how mortals perceive beings of herself. However, when Anu established himself as head, she explicitly was against it as her independence was everything to her... But her powers over life and the primordial seas could not overcome the star-god... And she was further humiliated when she was defeated by Marduk, who, effectively, "put her to heel". Under the thrall of Anu and his ilk however, she observed. She took note of the Great Beasts that came after her, and how similar in nature to the gods, and yet at the same time... different. The raw power that they hold was very different to the controlled, focused energy that the gods held, and it was her goal to emulate them... discreetly of course... for the benefit of the whole.

The Omni-War, the War between Pantheons ended up changing everything, especially with the Annunaki. Throttled by the Angels, Olympians, Kemetans and the Ahuras, the realm of An, for so long thought to be steadfast and eternal, were now seeing themselves close to being wiped out faster than they could have possibly imagined... Nammu found the opportunity she needed. As it turns out, she learned how to draw power from the chaos and upheaval caused by the war, and secretly building up her influence wherever she could, until she was able to remake herself into a being for more powerful than Anu could ever had realised.

Her bestial form, Tiamat, now drew strength from the very despair she can inflict on civilizations, and the aura she induces creates of visions of calamity and induces fear in the minds of mortals and less powerful deities. As the goddess of the Primeval Waters and self-proclaimed, Mother of Monsters, she can spawn all sorts of creatures from her carapace, and every monster she spawns is effectively an extenstion of herself. At her maximum size, she dwarfs even the likes of Gong-Gong and Behemoth, and is nigh-unstoppable in full-charge. Her healing factor is one of the powerful in the universe... being able to reformat herself after enormous chunks of herself have been obliterated by other, powerful divine beings... As long as there's a nearby source of biomass, especially if divine in nature...

Using her newfound powers, she managed to trounce the star-god Anu for control of the Pantheon, and brought the hurt onto god, beast and mortal alike... But in the end, as with all the other pantheons, she was beaten by Outremer, led by the Archangel Michael, whom to her surprise was much more powerful than the "young lord" she first encountered, and to her even greater suprise, got his own Great Beast to fight for him willingly. Ultimately though, she had the ultimate satisfaction of being one of the few beings who gave the Archangel and his "pet lizard" one of the hardest fights he ever had... and in the eyes of her own pantheon, this simply solidified her position as the most powerful of the Annunaki, securing her status as High-Chieftan.

Nowadays, Nammu is the oft-absentee ruler of An, more interested in pursuing her own interests and messing around with mortals, Marduk, Gilgamesh, and fellow godheads, ultimately due to the sheer fear she induces with her presence, none of the Annunaki have dared to stand up to her anymore, and she ultimately has the last say in all godly matters.
