Mobzilla

- EDIT- I seriously can't believe this got 100+ faves, this was just meant to be a parodic picture featuring my favorite movie monsters! Definitely continuing this .

Since I am currently working on my animation that has become a wee bit too serious in tone compared the original concept, I decided to unwind and draw a parody piece called: Mobzilla

I had the idea when I was eating a sandwich, and strangely here's the result. Mobzilla is a story set in the city of Harryhausen, where kaijus and other monsters live life as regular citizens. The Harryhausen Police force is similar to the military police of Big O in terms of overall firepower, but functions similarily as a regular police force in most genre fiction. Violence and corruption is high, and violence amongst kaijus and mecha migrants is rampant throughout the city.

The mood as of this writing is meant to emulate a cop action flick with a little bit of noir in the mix.

From left to right:

Godzilla AKA "The Father" 'Zilla, the biggest and most powerful criminal overlord in Harryhausen City, and rules the underworld with an iron fist. Anyone who dares mess with him is usually dealt with permanently. Large and in charge, everyone fears both his influence and his physical power, not only being an able fighter but also one of the lucky few to be born with a frightening projectile, the dreaded Atomic Blast. He showed his display of power by personally defeating the mighty Gamera in combat, and is wealthy enough to pay off the lawmakers in the city, save for Mayor Rhedosaurus.

Captain Zilla Jr. The cleanest cop in the city, son of small time criminal Zilla Sr., the latter having died trying to getting a larger share in the illegal mecha parts trade from The Father himself. In his steadfast goal to brush off his father's criminal background, he joined the police force and trained so hard he became the polar opposite of his father. His father was frail, opportunistic, cowardly and rather simple-minded. Zilla Jr. is strong, both physically and mentally, brave and full of justice in his heart. He tries his hardest to remain clean amongst his more corrupt peers, and becomes increasingly depressed with his colleague's growing disregard for the law they were supposed to uphold. He's one of the only kaiju who does not discriminate against the mechas of Harryhausen. In particular he has formed a certain friendship with a group of Mechs known as the "Jaegers", in particular a lad named Gipsy Danger, an idealistic and good hearted mecha with a passion for fighting.

Commissioner Kong. The monster Zilla Jr. himself looks up to, and the eternal enemy of Godzilla. Once a delinquent himself, he has first hand experience of the criminal underground and how it works. He turned over a new leaf after highschool after a nasty encounter with the street gang "The Vastatosaurs", and now dedicates himself to try and improve the city's police force with only minimal improvement. After the tragic murder of Commisioner Gamera, fear and distrust shot through the roof, and discipline within the police force has declined. This isn't helped by the recent influx of "Mechas", whom many kaiju distrust and hate. After all, a mere decade ago their respective nations were at war! With Zilla Jr. as his most reliable officer, his goal is the ultimate dismantling of Godzilla's criminal empire and a the reformation of the police force.
